Overview
Chronicle Epilogue is an audiobook player for connecting to your personal Plex Media Server. This privacy policy explains how the app handles your data and respects your privacy.
In short: Chronicle Epilogue does not collect, store, or transmit any personal user data to external servers. All data remains on your device and your personal Plex Media Server.
Information We Collect
We do not collect any personal information. Chronicle Epilogue does not:
- Collect any personally identifiable information
- Track your usage or behavior
- Store data on external servers
- Share any data with third parties (except as described in the Plex integration section below)
- Use analytics services
- Use advertising networks
Information Stored Locally
All app data is stored locally on your device. This includes:
- Audiobook Progress: Your playback position, bookmarks, and listening history
- User Preferences: App settings, playback speed, sleep timer configurations, and theme preferences
- Downloaded Content: Audiobooks you download for offline listening are stored in your device’s local storage
- Cache Data: Temporary files and images cached to improve app performance
This locally stored data:
- Remains on your device only
- Is not transmitted to any external servers (except your own Plex server)
- Can be deleted at any time by clearing the app’s data or uninstalling the app
Third-Party Services
Plex Integration
Chronicle Epilogue connects to your personal Plex Media Server to:
- Retrieve your audiobook library
- Sync playback progress across your devices
- Stream and download audiobook content
Important Notes:
- Your Plex server is controlled entirely by you
- All communication is between the app and your personal Plex server
- We do not have access to your Plex server or its contents
Plex Authentication
The app uses Plex OAuth for user authentication:
- Authentication is handled directly by Plex, not by Chronicle Epilogue
- We only receive an authentication token to access your Plex server
- Your Plex username and password are never stored in or accessible to Chronicle Epilogue

Data Security
While we do not collect or store your data externally, we take the security of your locally stored data seriously:
- Authentication tokens are stored securely on your device
- All communication with Plex servers uses industry-standard encryption
- We follow Android security best practices for local data storage
Children’s Privacy
Chronicle Epilogue does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. As we do not collect any personal information from any users, the app can be safely used by children under parental supervision.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the “Last Updated” date at the top of this policy. Significant changes will be announced through:
- App update notes in the Google Play Store
- Notifications within the app (if applicable)
- Updates to this document in the GitHub repository
